Home country is your country. Country of purchase is the country you are traveling to.
Your home country is set to 100. An index less than 100 means you will save in that country. If your home country does not have pricing available, results are provided compared to France (this will be indicated in the table).
The product pricing information is given as a percentage. For example, minus 25% means that the product is 25% cheaper in the country you are travelling to. Percentages are always shown relative to your country- ie -25% means you may save 25% in the country you are travelling to (aka the country of purchase).

DETAILED USER GUIDE
1. Select your CURRENCY / CoUNTRY
Select the country / currency you live in. Important: do not select the country you are travelling to, you must select your home country / currency first.
2. Select your COUNTRY of PURCHASE
After you select your home currency / country above, then select the country (or countries) you are interested in comparing. These are the countries you want to compare relative prices of. For example, if you were soon travelling to Singapore and the USA from Australia, you might select Australia, Singapore and the US state you are travelling to (we'll say New York for this example).
3. Tax or no tax?
If you're travelling, you may be able to claim back the tax. Be sure to select the country 'without tax' when selecting your country of purchase. Not sure if you will claim back the tax? Select both options in your country of purchase (standard and w/o tax). Some countries have a tiered tax refund system and the amount of tax back depends on the price of the item purchased. For example, if Austria was a potential country of purchase, you will see options for "Austria tax free- purchases up to 1499 EUR", and "Austria tax free- purchases from 1500 to 4999 EUR" etc.
4. Compare your Potential countries of purchase
Review your results by using our luxury hedge index that is tailored to you. Real time data is generated and results are provided and take into account product prices, taxes and real time exchange rates.
Your home country is set to 100. Any countries of purchase that are less than 100 means that the item will be cheaper to purchase there. If the index amount for your country is 100, and the index amount in the country of purchase is 85, this means that the price in your country of purchase is, on average, 85% of the price in your home country (a saving of 15%)! Conversely, if the index amount for your country is 100, and the index amount in your country of interest is 115, this means that the price in your country of interest is, on average, 115% of the price of your home country (or 15% more expensive). The index is based on averages of popular products. It will not give you a guaranteed exact amount of savings or loss, but rather an overview of where to shop to save.
Results are also displayed showing the price difference (percentage increase or decrease) compared to your home country of six popular products. For example, -15% means that you save 15% (▼ -15%) by buying in the country of purchase compared to your home country. Conversely, +15% (▲ +15% ) means that it is15% more expensive to buy in this country compared to your home country. Remember to click the + sign on mobile devices to see the product results. Note: results are not exact, and all website use, and use of the Luxury Hedge index, is subject to the website terms and conditions.
Important note: Where we do not have data for your home country, or where the brand is not sold in your home country, we do not provide the luxury hedge index as we cannot compare to your home country. Instead of an index, there will be a notification stating that results are provided compared to France. As we cannot provide an index, we provide only the product results, and these percentages are compared to France. For example, -15% would mean it is 15% cheaper than France. You can still use this as a comparison for when you are travelling to other countries. For example, country A may show it is +10% compared to France. Country B may show it is -2% compared to France. Results are still tailored to your country's currency and takes into account exchange rates. Therefore it is cheaper for you to buy in Country B.
